OPENS WINROCK PATIENT CARE CENTER WITH UPDATED LOGO

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – June 29, 2020 — TriCore Reference Laboratories, New Mexico’s non-profit clinical laboratory, is pleased to announce the opening of its newest location in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The new TriCore patient care center is located in Albuquerque’s Winrock Town Center. Robin Divine, TriCore’s Chief Business Development Officer notes of this new location, “While our current focus is on COVID-19 testing to support medically necessary surgeries, we are working with other clinicians, including primary care and population health experts, to offer innovations to close gaps in care for patients with chronic conditions and those needing preventative services.”
Additionally, with the opening of TriCore’s Winrock location, TriCore unveils its refreshed logo. “TriCore has evolved over the last twenty plus years, and our brand must evolve with it,” says Dr. Michael Crossey, TriCore’s CEO. “The new iteration of our logo continues to represent our strong foundation while also reflecting our growth and innovation. Today TriCore is more than a reference laboratory. Our TriCore Research Institute is conducting studies for customers all over the world, and our healthcare IT services and technology company, Rhodes Group, provides software and analytics to labs and health systems here in New Mexico and nationwide.” TriCore’s refreshed logo will debut on the Winock location’s marquee and can be previewed on tricore.org.
TriCore uses a many-layered safety approach at all of its locations, including the new Winrock facility. In order to reduce exposure to the COVID-19 virus and other infectious pathogens, each site location employs staff fully trained in modes of transmission and exercises safety procedures in accordance with CDC recommendations. The Winrock site is TriCore’s 32nd patient care center in New Mexico. The address is 2100 Louisiana Boulevard NE, Suite 412, located between New Mexico Orthopaedics and Crackin’ Crab, and is open Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm.

Technology is advancing by leaps and bounds, and manufacturers release new point-of-care testing (POCT) devices almost daily. As news of a novel technology spreads, requests from hospitals, provider offices, urgent care sites, and other locations increase. Likewise, when the public becomes aware of the possibilities of faster testing, people start to expect that when they visit their provider or any other healthcare site, they’ll be able to get results and necessary treatment immediately. With emerging POCT devices, the days of hospital-based glucose and urine dipstick testing being the only tests available at patient bedside are in the past.

Database shows NM health care facilities receiving COVID-19 relief funds

A new federal database is giving a look at which New Mexico hospitals and health care providers received federal funding related to the coronavirus. The database published on the CDC’s website lists over 1,100 different New Mexico entities that received CARES Act aid funding under the federal Health and Human Services Provider Relief Fund.
